CHICAGO BENGALI FILM FESTIVAL 2019 - CBFF2019

First time ever in Chicago

CHICAGO, USA (May 31, 2019) - CHHOBIGHAR, the recently formed Bengali movie club in Chicago is proud to announce CBFF (Chicago Bengali Film Festival), a first of its kind event, on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Yellow Box in Naperville. CHHOBIGHAR’s mission is to foster interest and awareness of contemporary Bengali films while promoting and nurturing the rich tapestry of cultural heritage and legacy of Bengali cinema in Chicago.

CBFF 2019, the inaugural film festival will showcase Bengali movies in a festive milieu accompanied by a sumptuous spread of popular Bengali delicacies for lunch. The agenda includes a vibrant discussion forum over tea and snacks to allow movie connoisseurs to critique, analyze and immerse themselves in finer points of film making and storytelling while gaining a deeper appreciation for Bengali culture. Highly engaged film enthusiasts will debate on how recurring themes are brought to life in an innovative and entertaining manner by the new generation of talented directors and actors from Bengal.

There will be a quiz competition and other planned activities with the aim of furthering CHHOBIGHAR’s goal of cultural enrichment and expanding knowledge and enjoyment of present-day Bengali movies.
